Deorali Retreat, Parmaguri

Parmaguri is a tranquil village tucked on a hilltop with views of majestic Mount Kanchenjungha.

Just 17 kms from the hustle and bustle of Darjeeling is this tranquil village tucked on a hilltop at 5300 feet. The deep and dark pine forests stretch on all sides of Parmaguri with the majestic snow peaks of Mt. Kanchenjungha looming over them.

Deorali Retreat in Ramji, a wonderful home stay with fantastic view from room, and if you are lucky you can see the range of Kanchanjungha even. All people of home stay are very helpful, friendly and very nice. The best person is Mr. Ladup Bhutia , the owner of the homestay. Rooms and washrooms are very neat and clean. Food is very tasty and on top of it you will feel like home. A must visit for all to explore Ramji and to stay at Deorali Retreat.

The place lies in the lap of nature. Kanchenjunga is visible from the balcony and the night sky looks just heavenly.
Special thanks to Mr Bhutia, Prakash and Saurabh for their warmth and hospitality.
The barbecue night was well catered for and they took all the pains to make it a memorable stay for us.

At Deorali Retreat Homestay, Parmaguri we have 09 rooms with attached western bathrooms, electricity, geyser, nicely done comfy beds and some great views of the surrounding forests and Mt. Kanchenjungha from our home stay.

If you want, we can arrange for a campfire, roast some chicken and ask our friends to sing some local songs for you in the evenings. We can share with you the stories of our ancestors and the Gora Sahibs, the monks and the ghosts and the people and their lives, we can also take you on short treks through the forest and we have a car, which can help you with local sightseeing.

Surely! We lack the glitz of the resorts and star rated hotels but our forest, mountains, the chirping of birds, the starry nights and the changing colours of Mt. Kanchenjungha from red to golden and finally to the glaring white during sunrise will make up for it.
